Latitude of Gratitude
Being thankful makes you happier, healthier and more helpful without it feeling like it's an arduous task. I want to live on the Latitude of Gratitude - to feel happier, to improve my life and the lives of those around me, and to remember to thank God for the blessings - especially the small ones - that He gives daily.

Rotten television
I'm so thankful for America's Funniest Home Videos. We all find it funny and my son is always telling me, "Don't worry, Mom. I never want to try that!"

The "supposed" to
Do you ever have a day when you do something just slightly different and you don't know why? I love it when the reason why is revealed right away. I know, and I'm thankful.

Oh, happy day
Today, I'm thankful for:
New friends
Old friends that I wish to spend time with
Places and things that allow me to communicate with both new and old friends

Living on the Latitude of Gratitude
My pastor did an amazing message on Sunday in a series called "Vanishing Virtues." Gratitude is something that is vanishing from our culture. People of all ages are feeling entitled to many things - a good job with excellent pay, a beautiful home, easy relationships and all around good fortune without having to work for it. When these things happen, it's because it was owed to them. When they do not happen, it's someone else's fault.
This isn't where I want to live. I want to live on the latitude of gratitude. You get things when you work for them and because you are given them - even if you don't deserve them. Give thanks every day - to God, to your family, to your friends, to coworkers and strangers. All of these people have given you something you didn't deserve or helped you accomplish the things you did.
Today I am grateful for:
Sadness that gives perspective
DVD players
My son being a wonderful brother
My daughter brushing my hair
I will try to list what I am grateful for here daily.
